It's All About Tips!

When Bri first started doing nail art, she definitely wasn't an expert at painting. It took her months of practice in order to paint her own nails as well as she does. She points out that growing her nails very long has made painting her nails easier, since there is less room for sloppy mistakes. Tricks that help Bri paint her perfect nail involve a large bottle of nail polish remover. If Bri notices that she accidentally painted on her skin, she always have a few cotton balls and polish remover to clean it up right away.

Once Bri got familiar with painting her friends' and her own nails, she began to try out fun and different things. She started out with trying a french tip. The picture below shows a nude polish with a black french tip. Bri did this by painting two coats of nude on her nails and letting it dry. Once the finishing clear polish was on the nails and they were completely dried, she took a fine point, smaller brush, to delicately paint on the black. Whenever she does a french tip, she takes her time and has a lot of patience in order for them to all look aligned.

This look can go with any outfit or occasion, and easy to dress up or down with. Besides using neutral colors like the ones above, Bri also plays around with fun colors. The picture below displays a nude, clear color as a base for her nails with a bright blue french tip. This complement of color gives Bri's hand some flare, especially when she rocks a funky middle-finger ring like the one pictured below.

Bri let me try out the french tip on her fingers. I realized how much concentration it needs and a really steady hand! Mine did not look quite like hers, but with some practice in the future I may be able to do some cool french tips for myself!
